VINO VDOVJAK

Matus Vdovjak is a down to earth and jovial winemaker. His wines are a precise expression of the Slovak Tokaj region. The winery is just on the Slovak side of the border with Hungary, so you can expect that Hungarian influence to shine through. According to a local historian, this exact area has been used for viticulture since Roman times. After everything was destroyed in the 1200s, the wine growing was brought back by Italian settlers, who planted what are now known as the common Tokaj grape varietals (Furmint, Harslevelu, etc.). The volcanic soils and favourable botrytis conditions enable Matus to bring a perfect representation of the terroir out of his wines. Try Matus' wines, they will bring a smile to your face!
