Roxanich: Zara 2011

As with all of the Roxanich wines, this is ALL about aging. Sixty-five days of maceration on this SEVEN grape field blend, followed by 116 months in the barrels in the cellar. We are talking layer after layer after layer of flavor & intensity. Yet, it is delicious, fun, quality juice that doesn’t require a masters in Oenology or the palate of a sommelier to understand or enjoy. Orange peel, mandarin, citric zest, with touches of honey, the tannin of dried fruit, and a touch of the earth. Complex, but satisfyingly drinkable. If the Sara is the focused, steely sister, Zara probably is pretty likely to dance after a few glasses. Get them both and compare / contrast!
