Vino Vdovjak: WineToo II

Welschriesling 2018 + Furmint 2019 + Lipovina 2020.

Taking three different grape varietals from three different harvest years & making a successful cuvée out of them is a pretty ambitious plan. Not easy peasy lemon squeezy, more like difficult difficult lemon difficult. But Vdovjak has done it! Landing somewhere in the middle between his Lipovina & his Muskatier, these three grapes all have varying levels of skin contact & ageing practices, making them separately extremely differently styled wines. Somehow, though, together they are a monolith. Ultra delectable & with a modicum of decorum. This could easily age in bottle for another year to get even more complexity and subtlety. Right now, the acid is pleasant, present & accounted for, in the future it will melt even more into the profile. Two thumbs up.
