Bystřický: Jesličky
"Orange, fragrant and mischievous," says Anička Bystřická about this wine – her very first solo project! Lover of white wines and curious about working with grapes other than her husband's reds, she took a tiny old vineyard into her care. The plot is a whimsical field blend of Müller Thurgau, Riesling, Neuburg and Isabella that gives the wine an unusual fruity and "foxy" kick that we love. The grapes' intense aromatics are well tamed by 3 days on skins and 5 months in a barrel – very impressive work for a first-time winemaker!
"A wine that smells sweet but is not. Made for all the people, including my friends and family – especially women – who I haven't converted to red wine yet. Aromatic, golden and full-bodied."
Fun and easy-drinking orange that you'll finish in no time.
Fun fact: The name of the wine means "nativity scene", but it's actually born out of a cute typo – when her husband Vojta signed on the vineyard and texted Anna about it, he typed Jesličky instead of Jedličky (neighbouring winemaker), accidentally christening the wine!
