Riesling 2023 Šatov is Martin Vajčner’s take on Moravian Riesling—precise, energetic, and unmistakably mineral. Sourced from old vines in the limestone-heavy vineyards around Šatov (a renowned winemaking area in the Znojmo region), it’s a zero-zero white that shows serious finesse.

What makes this wine special? The terroir and grapes are so full of personality that no intervention in the cellar is needed – long, slow fermentation with native yeasts, no added sulphur, no fining or filtering. Pure citrus, wild herbs, crushed rock, and that electric Vajčner acidity—this vintage has real edge and clarity, while staying light on its feet.

The grapes for Riesling Šatov come from the “U bunkru” site – literally “at the bunker” – a historic plot that sits along Šatov’s old vineyard terraces within the Podyjí National Park. These vines grow atop ancient Paleozoic bedrock overlain with marine sands and clays, giving this Riesling its signature crushed-stone minerality and crisp structure.
